Privacy Policy

1. The short version

In plain English: Your information exists to be shown to landlords you choose — and to no one else. We don't sell it, we don't advertise with it, and you can delete it whenever you want.

Qardella exists to let you carry your rental identity with you. That only works if you control it completely. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the controls you have — and it’s written to be read.

2. What we collect

In plain English: Only what you put in: your profile, your documents, your account email — plus a count of link opens and a record of which landlords you've sent your Qardella to.

  • Profile information you enter — name, date of birth, contact details, household, income, employment, rental history, references, pets and vehicles, and anything you write in your story. Your name and household basics always accompany a share; every other section is yours to include or exclude.
  • Documents you upload — IDs, pay stubs, tax forms, leases, and similar files you choose to keep in your vault.
  • Account information — the email address you sign in with.
  • Sharing activity — when your sharing link is opened and which landlords you’ve sent your Qardella to, so your privacy ledger is complete.

We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not collect data to build profiles for anyone other than the one you’re building yourself, on purpose.

3. How your information is used

In plain English: To show your Qardella to people you share it with, and to run the product. That's the whole list.

Your information is used to:

  • display your Qardella to the landlords and property managers you choose to share it with, filtered by your sharing settings;
  • operate, secure, and improve the service; and
  • send you service emails, like sign-in codes.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not show it to other users beyond exactly what you have chosen to share.

4. Sharing controls and your ledger

In plain English: Every share is your call, section by section. Pause your link anytime, and see when it's been opened.

You decide what each shared Qardella includes using your sharing settings — section by section, document category by document category. Sections you switch off are filtered out on our servers before anything is sent to a viewer. You can pause or resume your sharing link at any time, and your activity ledger shows link views and every landlord you’ve sent your Qardella to.

5. Where your data lives and how it's protected

In plain English: Encrypted infrastructure, private storage, and database rules that let you access only your own rows. Documents open through expiring links.

Qardella runs on Supabase infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit; documents are stored in private storage where each person can only reach their own files, enforced at the infrastructure level. Database access is governed by row-level security — your rows are readable by you and by no other user. Documents are viewed through short-lived signed links that expire within a minute.

6. Sensitive information

In plain English: We don't collect SSNs or license numbers today. When screening launches, that data goes to the screening partner — with your explicit authorization, protected, and never shown on your profile.

Qardella does not currently collect Social Security Numbers or driver’s license numbers. When identity and background screening launches with our verification partner, that information will be collected only with your explicit authorization, used only to run the screening you request, held in a protected layer, and never displayed on your profile or included in shares.

7. Retention and deletion

In plain English: Your data stays while you use Qardella. Delete everything in Settings and it's gone from our servers — immediately, no retrieval.

We keep your information for as long as you keep your account. You can delete everything — profile, documents, links, and sharing records — from Settings at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent; we cannot restore deleted data.

8. Your rights

In plain English: See it, export it, correct it, delete it — all built into the product, no email required.

You can view and edit everything Qardella holds about you directly in the product, export a copy from Settings, and delete it entirely. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, or delete personal information — Qardella’s answer to all of them is the same: the controls are already in your hands, and we’ll help if anything is missing.

9. Changes

In plain English: If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you first.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you before they take effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
